The Steere Family Association was founded in 1930 by John P. Steere,
Sr. From it's inception, one of the primary missions of the
organization has been to collect, systematize and make available to
interested family members the genealogical, biographical, photographic,
and other historical information pertaining to the descendants of John
Henry Steere. It has kept available the definitive family genealogy
written by James Pierce Root more than 100 years ago, and has published
two sequels: The John Steere Family Branches (1972) and the John Steere
Family Album (1981). Be sure to
visit the Association's website to
learn more about other genealogical resources that are
available.
This website is dedicated to the Association's current
efforts in updating and computerizing the Steere family genealogies.
